🎯 Understanding the credibility score
85–100 · High credibility — well-established outlets with verified sourcing. These scores are intentionally rare.
65–84 · Generally credible — solid source with only minor caveats. Most reputable news sites land here.
40–64 · Mixed / verify further — some red flags (thin sourcing, opinion framing, ads). Common for blogs and social posts.
Below 40 · Low credibility — multiple red flags detected.
Scoring is deliberately strict, so testing a handful of everyday pages or social posts at the stand will often land in the 40–65 range — that's expected, not a bug. Scores above 85 usually require major, extensively verified outlets.

Look at these clues: the sun is perfectly centered with mathematically uniform rays. The clouds on the left and right are mirror images of each other. The tree crown is a flawless sphere. The flowers appear at identical spacing. The colors are oversaturated with an otherworldly blue glow in the sky. Real photos never look this perfect because nature is asymmetric and cameras introduce noise, grain, and uneven lighting.
FactChecker Pro flags patterns like these automatically — in under 3 seconds.

Image A is a genuine Unsplash portrait. In Image B, look closely at the hair strands blending unnaturally into the background, and the almost too-symmetrical facial features. AI-generated faces often have subtle errors: hair that merges with the background, eyes slightly misaligned, or skin texture that is too smooth.

Image A is a real aerial photo of New York City. Image B is AI-generated — notice the building windows that don't follow consistent architectural logic, the street grid that subtly bends in impossible ways, and the lights that glow with a dreamy unrealistic quality. Real city photography shows consistent perspective, real reflections, and the natural chaos of urban life.
