Get started: Installing our Chrome extension

To begin your journey with FactChecker Pro, the first step is quick and easy. Simply install our Chrome extension by following these steps:

Search for 'FactChecker Pro' in the Chrome Web Store and click 'Add to Chrome'. The extension installs in seconds with no additional configuration required

The extension icon will appear in your Chrome toolbar. Click the puzzle icon and pin it for easy access.

You can use basic credibility scoring without an account. However, creating a free account unlocks your personal Transparency Score, claim submission history, badges, and leaderboard access.

Click the FactChecker Pro icon in your browser toolbar, then click 'Sign In / Register'. Enter a username, email address, and password. Your account is created instantly.

The extension works on any publicly accessible webpage, including news sites, social media platforms, blogs, and online publications.

You can deactivate the floating panel through the settings button on the panel.

Claim detection work

The extension scans the visible text of the page you are viewing and identifies statements that can be verified, such as statistical claims, quotes attributed to public figures, and factual assertions. These are highlighted for your review.

Community submissions

Submit suspicious claims to the moderation queue for community and AI review.

Transparency score

Earn points for every contribution. Rise through the ranks and appear on the leaderboard.

Social media overlay

Adds a "Check info" button to posts on Twitter/X and Facebook.

Dashboard

Access personal analytics showing browsing history, accuracy score, submissions, and badges.

Open the Dashboard and click "My submissions" in the sidebar.

"+ New submission".

Fill in the claim

Paste the exact claim, headline, or statement you want reviewed.

Claim source

Enter the source URL where you found it.

Priority

Set priority to urgent if the claim is spreading rapidly.

Optional

Optionally explain why you find it suspicious and add a screenshot link.

Submit

Click "Submit for review". You earn +5 points immediately.
